View Data Service has not been initiated properly
Hi All,
We are using Information Steward 4.2 SP3.We are facing an issue in viewing the data from SQL server tables that has been added in the Information steward. The Error prompted is "Viewdataservice did not initialize properly. Check the PJS log file for more details".
Could any one have any idea on the Root cause of the Error or any clue to rectify the Issue.

unable to define a Data Insight connection to a file
hi all,
i have a few excel and flat files which need to be profiled, cleansed and matched.
but when i try to go upload a file , i get an error
logon to information steward -> go to project -> file format section -> new ->
-> excel file format -> enter details and try to browse to sample file ->
-> got error as below
next i went to cmc to define a connection to a file, but i am not really able to enter the information steward option here
logon to cmc -> applications -> information steward application -> not able to click on it , nothing really happens here.
can anyone please help me on this?

Group number retention and pass thru fields.
We are planning to use Information Steward Version. We are having following two issues.
1 Group number retention : In IS we are building the cleansing and matching process. We want to run the process on daily basis. We also want to maintain the history on how the records get added or removed from a group. Currently we are noticing the group number is randomly generated and there is no feature to retain the old group numbers with IS. How can we configure the IS so that the group number can be retained in the IS process. I know this can be done in BODS once we publish the IS solution to BODS, but can this be done in IS. I am trying to avoid doing this in BODS as we do not want to change the steps of IS manually.
2 We are loading the incoming data into staging table. The incoming data has fields which needs cleansing (eg name, phone,email id) and some other fields which do not need cleansing (eg WealthFlag, Private bank indicator) . After cleansing I want to join my cleansed data (eg name, phone, email id )back with additional fields (eg Wealth Flag, Private bank indicator). To enable this join we wanted to have a key column in both the data sets. So we tried to have a column called record id in both the data sets. I want the record id to be present in the cleansed data but I do not want it to participate in the cleansing process. Is there an option to have some fields being passed to IS but not take part in cleansing. The main purpose is to join back the cleansed data with other fields which came from source. Poonam

Scorecard and pie chart export in information steward
Hi All,
Can we export the scorecard, pie charts and trend data generated by Information steward in excel or some other format to create a report.
Or is there any other way you guys are using to generate the report to show the improvement in data.

How To - Export Info Stewards objects
Is there a tool, process within Info. Steward that would export all the Data Insight objects including the Profile Tasks (that I believe reside in DS) out - so that they can be re-imported back in...
We need to rebuild the IS, DS landscape. and am looking to export the Business Validation rules, Views, Profile tasks etc.

Information Steward Error (DPR-10193)
Hi,
I am facing issue on Quality trend lines update while working with score cards in BOIS.
I am able to see the scorecard for 'Now' run But not for the last runs.
Because of which Quality Trend lines not available.
Do we have any configuration setting for history deletion in BOIS.
Else what could be the reason for not unavailability of 'last runs' data.

View Failed Data - Column Headings
When viewing the failed records of a scorecard, is there a way to display the English descriptions instead of the German column names? We download the file to excel and then pass these on to our business users to fix. They would like to see the English descriptions.

Full extract of the profile results
After performing uniqueness profiling , is there a way to extract the data for the unique and not-unique records irrespective of sampling size.
I wish to know if there is a View Data button or Extract button that allows us to extract data for the profiled columns full set and not sampled set.

Hi Experts,
Can any one give me answer for the below questions.
Exact DB permissions for HANA connections in HANA admin console for SAP information steward.
For example, in order to use SAP Information steward Data Insight for profiling what HANA user permissions are needed. I need to know that same for using HANA as a source in Metadata Manager as well.

Data Cleansing Advisor Error
I'm attempting to create a Data Cleansing Solution using the DCA however it keeps giving an error, "Unable to create data table". The data we're trying to use for this cleansing solution is coming from two HANA tables and is joined in a view in Information Steward. I can view the data in IS and run a column/content type/address profile on the view, but can't get the DCA to work for this particular view.
Does anyone know what are possible causes of the "Unable to create data table" error or how to resolve?

Cleansing package
Hi Experts,
We have multiple cleansing packages for a single source file, how we can use those packages in a single job in DS.
I'm using base data cleansing and under cleansing package name we are mentioning this. But we are not getting the parsed & standardized output.

Data Cleansing Solution locked
Hi Experts,
I'm currently performing a Data Health Check (DHC) for a German customer.
Within that DHC I want to use the Data Cleansing Advisor (DCA) for address cleansing and matching. But unfortunately I have some problems with that.
In my environment the repositories for IPS, DS and IS were created in a MS SQL Server database. The embedded SQL Anywhere database wasn't installed.
But I found out that the staging database for the DCA is - nevertheless - a SQL Anywhere database (located under C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObject Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\DCA-SA\Data as DCA.db).
Before I started that database (using dbsrv12.exe from the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinesObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\Data\DCA-SA\bin64) I got the error message "Unable to access staging tables for cleanse operation" when creating a Data Cleansing solution (seems to be the same as in SAP note 2143417 even if I'm using IS version 4.2 SP04 - unfortunately no solution is provided in the note).
After I started the SQL Anywhere database on Friday I was able to create a Data Cleansing solution and analyze the results.
On Monday I wanted to refine the Data Cleansing solution but I saw that its status in IS is "locked" and I'm neither no longer able to open the existing Data Cleansing solution nor create a new one (for a new one I got again the error message "Unable to access staging tables for cleansing solution" 
).
I even upgraded the environment to IS version 4.2 SP05 but the Data Cleansing solution is still locked.
Can you tell me what I can do to unlock the existing Data Cleansing solution?
Btw: in my environments (IS version 4.2 SP04 and IS version 4.2 SP05) there is no "unlock" option available --> see attached screen shot
And I used the administrator user so that I don't assume that it is an authorization problem.
Can you tell me which user name and password is used for the Data Cleansing Advisor SQL Anywhere database?
I would like to analyze that database but for that I need the user name and password which must be set in the background during the installation.
Is it possible to "switch" the DCA database to another database server (e.g. MS SQL Server)?
How can I do that?
Since the DHC is very urgent I would appreciate a quick response.

Hello experts,
I am new to Information steward. Whenever I try to open the Information steward I get this error
com.crystaldecisions.thirdparty.org.omg.CORBA.UNKNOWN minor code: 0x0 completed: No (COR-10869)
If i click on ok in the error dialog box, it disappears but while opening a project or doing something else it pops up again. Can anyone of you tell why do we get this error, and any resolution for the same.

Create a filter based on from date and to date in a view in Information Steward 4.0
Hello,
We have a requirement for which we are accessing SAP ECC 4.0 and creating views based on standard SAP tables CDHDR & CDPOS. Since these tables are huge tables, we have put the filter condition to select only a specific table and specific field and only for past 7 days. We were able to put this date filter using date_diff function. But now our requirement is to to filter the data for date range. We could filter the data for a single date by using condition as
UDATE = to_date('01/11/2012','mm/dd/yyyy')
but we are not able to put that for a date range. When we try to put the condition as
UDATE between to_date('01/11/2012','mm/dd/yyyy') and to_date('01/18/2012','mm/dd/yyyy')
it is giving an error as "Syntax error at identifier" (COR-10611).
Please help at the earliest since we need to provide the resolution to the client.
